Proclaims April 2019 as Distracted Driving Awareness Month in California and calls upon residents, government agencies, business leaders, hospitals, schools, and public and private institutions within the state to promote awareness of the distracted driving problem and to support programs and policies to reduce the incidence of distracted driving in California and nationwide.
Proclaims the week of May 20, 2019, to May 26, 2019, to be Emergency Medical Services Week in California.
Proclaims the week of June 1-9, 2019, as California Fishing and Boating Week.
Recognizes June 2019 as Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month and Friday, June 21, 2019, as The Longest Day. Urges all Californians to commemorate the month of June 2019 as Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month.
Designates May 2019 as California’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Awareness Month.
Acknowledges the beginning of Ramadan and expresses deepest respect to Muslims across California and throughout the world on this significant occasion, in observance of and out of respect for the commencement of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal.
Recognizes Jun 19, 2019, as Juneteenth and urges the people of California to reflect on the role that African Americans have played in the history of the United States.
Proclaims September 22, 2019, to September 29, 2019, to be Special Districts Week. Encourages all Californians to be involved in their communities and be civically engaged with their local government.
Declares the month of May 2019 as Foster Care Month
Dedicates the month of May 2019 as Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month.
Recognizes that hunger is an issue affecting too many Californians and commends the California citrus industry for its effort to raise awareness about food insecurity by observing May 15, 2019, as Citrus Stride Day at the State Capitol.
Declares October 3, 2019, as Inflammatory Breast Cancer Awareness Day of 2019, and encourages all Californians to learn about this rare and aggressive type of breast cancer and support all people who are impacted by a diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer.
Declares June 6, 2019, as Secure Your Load Day in California to increase public awareness of the necessity of securing loads on vehicles using the state's highways.
Declares August 7, 2019, as Purple Heart Day in California. Encourages all Californians to honor those who have served in the Armed Forces, especially those who have been wounded and received the Purple Heart.
Proclaims October 6, 2019, through October 12, 2019, as Latex Allergy Awareness Week in California. Encourages all Californians to be informed about the causes, symptoms, treatment, and prevention of latex allergies.
